Aging in Place

At RenovateKate, we are committed to studying the on-going and future needs of our clients as they age. "Aging In Place" is the term used in reference to staying in your home for as long as you live rather than moving to an assisted living community or a nursing home as your physical needs change.

Most residential housing is geared to young, healthy adults. Builders usually do not take into account age-related conditions such as reduced mobility or limited range of reach. As the number of seniors increases by millions every year, more and more people will become concerned about how and where they will spend the rest of their lives.

RenovateKate understands the importance of planning for your future. Every project we plan, design and build considers the needs of every family member for every stage of life. Wider doorways and hallways, walk-in showers, accessible kitchen storage, lever-style handles for doors and faucets, and appliances that can be reached by all are only a few of the issues we address.

We are also passionate about ensuring that a home never looks like a hospital or nursing home. Everyone deserves a beautiful and asthetically-pleasing environment, especially those who have limited mobility and spend a great deal of time at home.

Whether you are 20 or 80, we will ensure that your home will meet your needs at every stage of life. Although you may not have limited mobility yourself, you may have elderly parents that will visit or live with you in the future, or even friends with disabilities who will need to be able to manuever through your home.

Planning now for Aging in Place will not only benefit you, but will also be a huge selling point later if you ever decide to sell your home. A home that has already been designed with aging issues in mind will sell much quicker than a home that has not, and the demand for Aging In Place-designed homes will only increase over the next several decades.
